Yin Yoga

I began my yoga journey in 2010, in hopes of finding a healthy way to heal from a difficult trauma #MeToo. I was instantly amazed by the healing power of yoga, and the emotional release that came on my mat. Yoga gave me the strength to reclaim my body and the courage to love myself. Through yoga, I learned to find stillness, acceptance, and most of all, forgiveness. With a background in victim advocacy, I knew that I wanted to share this powerful gift of healing with victims, survivors, and others alike. I completed my 200 hour teacher training through Corepower Yoga in 2013 and completed my Reiki II training in 2018. I aim to create a safe space where students can reconnect to their inner spirt and find freedom through physical expression. When I’m not on my mat, I enjoy reading, traveling, gardening, and spending time with my husband, two step-daughters, and my puppy, Scotch.
Yin Yoga is a 75 minute class that uses longer holds and the force of gravity in different grounded postures to help increase flexibility around the joints. Yin yoga is based on the Chinese Medicine approach to health, which says the flow of energy through its natural channels (meridians) in our body is essential to our well-being. Yin yoga works to clear blockages and stimulate the efficient flow of these “rivers of energy”. This practice is accessible and beneficial to people of all ages and fitness levels. No prior yoga experience is required and modifications will be given along the way if needed. Gift yourself an evening of feeling more flexible, deeply rested and vibrant!
