Candlelight Gentle Flow

This class is taught by:

Lori Seemann

E-RYT 200/500 Yoga Instructor, Owner

I found yoga in 2001 after the birth of my second child. I was working night-shifts as an RN in a hospital and struggled with anxiety, as well as finding the time and motivation to take care of my body while also being devoted to my family. I loved the way my body felt while doing yoga, and the calm my mind experienced after. I always looked forward to attending classes.

I completed my initial 230 hour yoga teacher training program at the Yoga Center of Minneapolis in 2008. I had decided to take the training to deepen my knowledge of both the physical and spiritual aspects of yoga, and began teaching part time after my completion of the program. I continue to expand my knowledge of yoga with ongoing training every year, and recently completed my 500 hour teaching certification with Christina Sell & Giaconda Parker at the San Marcos School of Yoga. Personally, the practice of yoga is slowly and steadily building my capacity to be content, even joyful, regardless of what is happening around me.

I also am a Registered Nurse and one of the family owners of Prairie River Home Care, which provides long and short term medical and supportive care to clients in their homes.  I am inspired and humbled to work with an amazing group of people that strive to uplift others everyday, both in home care and in yoga.  I emphasize physical alignment in my yoga classes. Strength and flexibility are balanced in order to gain control of the body in a graceful and purposeful manner.

“Letting go doesn’t mean forgetting, it just means we stop carrying the energy of the past into the present.” - Yung Pueblo.
I began my yoga journey in 2010, in hopes of finding a healthy way to heal from a difficult trauma #MeToo. I was instantly amazed by the healing power of yoga, and the emotional release that came on my mat. Yoga gave me the strength to reclaim my body and the courage to love myself. Through yoga, I learned to find stillness, acceptance, and most of all, forgiveness. With a background in victim advocacy, I knew that I wanted to share this powerful gift of healing with victims, survivors, and others alike. I completed my 200 hour teacher training through Corepower Yoga in 2013 and completed my Reiki II training in 2018. I aim to create a safe space where students can reconnect to their inner spirt and find freedom through physical expression. When I’m not on my mat, I enjoy reading, traveling, gardening, and spending time with my husband, two step-daughters, and my puppy, Scotch.
This 60 minute gentle flow class will help you unwind and leave all stress behind. Candlelight yoga offers a soothing environment that guides you through basic asanas (poses) that are designed to help you release tension and reconnect with your spirit. Appropriate for all levels.
